Safety & Legality
Yes, OverWitch is completely safe. It runs on the Overwolf platform, which is officially approved by Blizzard Entertainment. OverWitch only reads public game events through Overwolf's sanctioned API — it never injects code into the game, modifies game files, or automates gameplay. Thousands of players use OverWitch daily without any issues.
No. Overwolf has an official partnership with Blizzard Entertainment. OverWitch only accesses publicly available game event data through Overwolf's sanctioned API, which is explicitly permitted. There is no game memory reading, file modification, or unauthorized data access. Using OverWitch is fully compliant with Blizzard's Terms of Service.
No. OverWitch is an information tool, not a cheat. Think of it like a coach watching over your shoulder and offering suggestions. It cannot aim for you, move your character, or make decisions automatically. All actions remain 100% player-controlled. It simply provides data-driven recommendations to help you make better strategic choices.
OverWitch is fundamentally different from cheats. It's an information overlay that shows suggestions between rounds — never during active combat. It reads public game events through official APIs, while cheats illegally inject into the game process and modify memory. OverWitch provides strategic advice; cheats directly control your inputs. Completely different technology and purpose.
Performance
Minimal impact. OverWitch uses less than 1% CPU and around 50MB of RAM during gameplay. The overlay only renders between rounds and on respawn — never during active combat — so it won't interfere with your aiming or movement. Most users report zero noticeable FPS difference. The Overwolf framework is optimized for efficient resource management.
Approximately 50MB of RAM and under 1% CPU during active gameplay. The overlay is lightweight because it only activates between rounds and during hero selection. Overwolf's framework handles efficient resource management automatically, ensuring OverWitch doesn't compete with Overwatch 2 for system resources during critical moments.
No. The overlay appears between rounds, during hero select, and on respawn only. It automatically hides during active combat so nothing interferes with your gameplay, screen visibility, or reaction time. You'll never see the overlay when you need to focus on aiming, positioning, or teamfights.
Privacy
OverWitch processes match data locally on your machine. We read hero picks, map information, and match outcomes from Overwolf's game event API. No personal information, browsing data, or keystrokes are collected. Your match data stays on your device by default — we follow a local-first architecture to protect your privacy.
Not by default. All data is processed and stored locally on your device. Cloud sync is an optional Plus feature — if you enable it, your data is encrypted end-to-end before leaving your device. You have complete control over what syncs and can disable cloud storage at any time from the settings.
Open OverWitch settings and click "Clear All Data" to remove your local match history instantly. If you've enabled cloud sync, the same button wipes your cloud data as well. Uninstalling OverWitch automatically removes all local files. You have full control over your data at all times.
Yes. OverWitch follows GDPR principles: data minimization (we collect only what's needed for functionality), local-first processing (data stays on your device by default), explicit opt-in for cloud features, and easy data deletion. EU users can request a full data export or deletion at any time by contacting our support team.
Free vs Plus
Yes, absolutely. Counter-pick suggestions, live ultimate tracking, basic match analytics, and the in-game overlay are completely free with no time limits or paywalls. The free version includes everything you need to improve your competitive play. We believe core tactical tools should be accessible to everyone.
Everything core to competitive improvement: real-time counter-pick engine, enemy ultimate tracking, hero swap suggestions, match history, basic win/loss analytics, full overlay customization, and the gamification system with titles and badges. No feature lockouts or limitations. The free version is a complete tactical companion.
Plus adds advanced analytics like per-hero performance trends, detailed matchup breakdowns, and extended match history beyond 30 days. You also get cloud sync across devices, priority data processing during peak hours, and early access to experimental features. You can upgrade in-app whenever you're ready — no pressure.
Technical
Windows 10 64-bit or later, 4GB RAM minimum (8GB recommended), 1GB free disk space, and an internet connection. OverWitch runs through Overwolf, so if Overwolf works on your system, OverWitch will too. No special GPU required — integrated graphics are fine. Most modern gaming PCs meet these requirements easily.
All competitive and quickplay modes are fully supported. The counter-pick engine and ultimate tracker work in any mode that allows hero switching. Arcade modes have partial support depending on their specific rulesets — modes with hero switching get full functionality, while hero-locked modes only show analytics features.
Click any Download button on this site to visit the Overwolf App Store. If you don't have Overwolf installed yet, install it first (takes about 2 minutes). Then install OverWitch from the Overwolf store. Launch Overwatch 2 and the overlay appears automatically. No manual configuration needed — it works out of the box.
Open the Overwolf client, go to Settings, find OverWitch in your installed apps list, and click Uninstall. All local data is automatically removed. Alternatively, you can uninstall through Windows Settings under Apps & Features. Either method is quick and leaves no leftover files on your system.
Miscellaneous
Yes. The Overwolf overlay integrates seamlessly with OBS and most streaming software. Viewers will see the overlay on your stream by default. If you prefer to hide the overlay from viewers while keeping it visible for yourself, enable "Streamer Mode" in OverWitch settings to exclude it from capture sources.
Currently Windows only, since both Overwolf and Overwatch 2's full API access require Windows. Console versions (PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch) are not supported because console platforms don't allow third-party overlay applications. We're monitoring platform developments, but there are no Mac or console versions planned at this time.
